Staying on the Catch

This is an original varnished oil painting on a 10x10 inch gallery wrapped canvas.

My extended family in Newfoundland, Canada come from a long line of fishers and crabbers, which makes me feel close to our history and the sea. Here, brave crabbers on a small crab boat fight the huge waves of the North Sea to make their catch of the day. It takes incredible grit and fortitude to risk everything to make a living, but the sea rewards the courageous who respect the ocean’s bounty.
